Jim Meskimen is the founder and Principal at Behavior Mechanics. He holds a Master’s Degree in Special Education and brings over 27 years of dedicated experience in the field of education.
Jim Meskimen has developed a reputation as a leader in behavior support and classroom management. He has successfully designed and implemented school-wide discipline supports and provided individualized coaching to educators on effective classroom management techniques over decades in the Colorado public school system.
As a certified deescalation trainer and compliance officer for restraint protocols, Jim is deeply committed to fostering safe, inclusive learning environments. Their background in Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Restorative Justice has positioned them as a trusted advisor to schools and districts seeking to address challenging behaviors proactively and compassionately.
Jim also specializes in one-on-one classroom observations, working directly with teachers to identify opportunities for tailored behavior interventions that address unique student challenges. By providing actionable feedback and collaborative solutions, they help educators create supportive and effective strategies that enhance student success.
Additionally, Jim has served as a training coordinator for transformative programs such as Second Step, Why Try, Random Acts of Kindness, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, and Restorative Justice. Through a combination of evidence-based strategies and personalized support, Jim empowers educators and schools to create environments where every student can thrive.
